Pharmacists in Australia are facing unprecedented levels of change, much of it imposed on them by the external environment, including PBS reforms and Community Pharmacy Agreements (CPAs). Key findings by Glenn Guilfoyle from The Next Level and Bruce Annabel from JR Pharmacy Services found that participants reported benefits to themselves, the pharmacy, their staff and consumers as a result of a trial to investigate the feasibility of a changed model of pharmacy. This model repositioned the pharmacists as a primary healthcare provider and the pharmacy positioned as a healthcare destination.
